About
This document shares what our community wants for the Night Time Economy. We see the Night not just as a time but as an important part of our culture that helps local businesses and communities thrive.
The Night Manifesto is inspired by similar efforts around the world and the NSW Government’s Vibrancy Reforms to boost our nighttime economy.
The Night Manifesto brings together findings from different surveys and studies which capture the ideas and hopes of businesses, community groups, artists, musicians, and young people who see the current state of the Night and imagine what it could be.

How can I get involved?
You can pledge your support by signing the Night Manifesto. The more signatures we receive, the better we can advocate for a more vibrant Night Time Economy and experience.
We invite you to share this vision with your friends and family, colleagues, and networks.
If you would like to promote this vision with your community, you pick up copies from the Hurstville Civic Centre or at any of our Library branches or you can download the Night Manifesto poster in the link below. (Available from the 28 June 2024).
Display the Night Manifesto in your venue to show your support.
We want to support local events that are happening at night. You can submit an event listing to be included in the Georges River What’s On.

We want to enhance and highlight the talent and ideas of our community to connect to one another.
You can share your ideas about events and activities that you would like to be part of. We will explore how to build connections and possibilities from your ideas.
For example:
- Are you a local musician looking a for a venue?
- Have you ever wanted to run a book club after work hours?
- Do you want to find the local sports club to play a game after work?
Post your idea on our map and sign our guestbook with one of your favourite stories about the Night.
We regularly promote project funding opportunities through our Council grants program and those available through other government grants.
