Kempt Field Inclusive Adventure Playground and Bike Training Circuit – Feedback on Concept Design Following the development and adoption of the Masterplan and Plan of Management for Kempt Field, Georges River Council is commencing the design and construction of the Kempt Field Inclusive Adventure Playground and Bike Training Circuit project. During the Plan of Management and Masterplan development stage, Council undertook extensive community consultation on the proposed design features and a public exhibition of the plans. The works proposed for this project involve the construction of a new inclusive children’s adventure playground, rubber soft fall surfacing, shade sail, seats and picnic shelters, water refill station, bike training circuit, and associated design and landscaping works. It is anticipated the construction of the new playground and children’s bike training circuit will take approximately three months starting in May 2019. Council is currently developing the designs for this project and would like to seek any feedback you may have on the Concept Design. Council’s online feedback session is available to comment until 5pm on 15 April 2019.

    Works have commenced for Phase One of a $6 million transformation of Kempt Field in Hurstville. The works involve the construction of a new inclusive adventure playground and children’s bike training circuit, as identified in the Kempt Field Masterplan.

    The exciting new adventure playground will incorporate the following features:

    • Double skyrider with accessible seat
    • Multifaceted junior bike training circuit
    • Inclusive adventure ropes course
    • Sensory focused play zones
    • Picnic shelters and BBQ units
    • Shade sails
    • Pathway linking pedestrian and cycle paths
    • Lighting and landscaping (including new fencing on Durham Street and Roberts Lane)
    • Water refill station
    • Seats and litter station

    It is anticipated that the playground works will be complete prior to the December 2019 school holidays.
