Council has prepared a Draft Plan of Management and Master plan for the former Oatley Bowling Club and Closed Road, Oatley. The community are invited to provide their comments/feedback on the draft to help Council finalise these documents.

A copy of the draft Plan of Management and Draft Master Plan can be viewed or downloaded from the document library.

The Plan of Management provides a clear set of guidelines for the short and long term management of the park. It outlines how the park will be used, improved and managed in the future and identifies goals and objectives for the land, establishing the overall direction for planning, management and maintenance. This Plan of Management includes a detailed Landscape Master plan outlining the future vision for the park.

The Draft Plan of Management and Master plan will be on public exhibition from 3 March 2021 to 31 March 2021.

Webinar

Council hosted a webinar to ensure everyone could raise questions and have their say about the draft Plan of Management and draft Master plan. The webinar was held on 16 March 2021. A recording of this webinar is available to view at the bottom of this page.

Categorisation and Public Hearing

The Draft Plan of Management proposes to recategorised the former Bowling Club Site (Lot 100 DP 1252069) from 'Natural Area' to 'Park'. The closed road component of the site (Lot 106 in DP1252069) is proposed to remain categorised as 'Natural Area'. The land within the Natural Area category will in turn be sub-categorised as 'Bushland'.

Under Section 40A of the Local Government Act 1993, Councils are required to hold a public hearing into the proposed categorisation or re-categorisation of Community land. The public hearing will be required in relation to Lot 100 DP 1252069. The Independent Public Hearing was held on 20 April 2021.
