Merv Lynch Reserve Off Leash Dog Park - Trial of New Operating Hours
Council trialled the creation of a new off leash dog park at Merv Lynch Reserve, Beverly Hills from October 2022 to January 2023. During this time, community consultation was carried out which was promoted through a social media campaign, media release and on-site signage.
Following the positive responses received during the consultation period, Council resolved in February 2023 (ASS004-23) to endorse the designated section of Merv Lynch Reserve as a permanent off leash dog park.
Since the formal opening of the off-leash dog park in March 2023, Council has received additional community feedback regarding anti-social behaviour, and safety concerns within the park.
Based on the community feedback received, Council will trial new operating hours for the off-leash dog park from 7:00am to 7:00pm. The trial will commence on 01 July 2024 and will be in effect until 27 September 2024.
Following the completion of the trial, Council will review all feedback and determine whether the new operating hours will be made permanent.
