The Community Strategic Plan is the highest level of strategic planning for local councils, outlining the main priorities of the community over a ten-year period. This document serves as the voice of our communities and stakeholders, reflecting your ideas and aspirations for our local area.

Why we're reviewing

The Plan is not a Council document – it's your statement about what’s important for future of your local area.

As time passes and communities change, it’s the Council’s civic responsibility to ensure the Plan is always an accurate reflection of your priorities and aspirations for the future of your community and your local environment.

This is your opportunity to help us refresh the Community Vision Statement and revise the long-term goals within each of the six Pillars that were established when the Plan was endorsed in 2022. We understand that the needs and wants of both individuals and community may have shifted since this period, so it's important that our leading document is responsive to this.

Our legislative commitments

Following local government elections, councils are required to review their Community Strategic Plan. This is stipulated under the Local Government Act, which requires councils to review their plans within a specific timeframe after elections.
