Community Strategic Plan Review
The Community Strategic Plan, is the highest level of strategic planning for local councils, outlining the main priorities of the community over a ten-year period. This document serves as the voice of our communities and stakeholders, reflecting your ideas and aspirations for our local area.
In November 2024, we checked in with our community on the Community Strategic Plan 2022-2032. We asked you about think about the long-term goals and tell us briefly what is most important to you. Your feedback has helped us develop the draft Community Strategic Plan 2025-2035.

Our Corporate Documents at a Glance
To support the Community Strategic Plan, we have reviewed our Delivery Program, Operational Plan, and Resourcing Strategy.

Operational Plan | An annual document that details specific actions, projects, and budgetary allocations for the upcoming financial year. It provides a granular, year-by-year implementation roadmap for the Delivery Program | |

Community Strategic Plan feedback: what we heard
During our last round of consultation, we asked you to identify what you valued most in our six pillars by participating in our five-word challenge. This helped us refine the six pillars of The Plan to make it more accessible and usable for our community and stakeholders. We received over 5,000 words through the challenge, with the top five in each pillar being:

We also gathered hundreds of responses to our Community Vision Statement. This is a mandatory element of The Plan, and based on your feedback, our draft Community Strategic Plan has been refreshed with a new Vision Statement:
A connected community that prioritises diversity, sustainability and green spaces.
Thank you to everyone who attended one of our pop-ups, came to one of our workshops, and engaged with us either through completing the survey or providing feedback.
More about The Plan
The Plan is not a Council document – it's your statement about what’s important for the future of your local area.
As time passes and communities change, it’s the Council’s civic responsibility to ensure the Plan is always an accurate reflection of your priorities and aspirations for the future of your community and your local environment.
This is your opportunity continue informing the long-term goals and aspirations of our community. We understand that the needs and wants of both individuals and community evolve, so it's important that our leading document is responsive to this.

Our legislative commitments
Following local government elections, councils are required to review their Community Strategic Plan. This is stipulated under the Local Government Act (1993), which requires councils to review their plans within a specific timeframe after elections.
