  • Connells Point Playground Completion

    The construction of Connells Point Playground is now complete and the playground is open for public use.

    The upgraded playground includes new play equipment, rubber soft fall surfacing, picnic shelter with seating and a shade sail. Costing for this project was $114,945 being funded by Councils Infrastructure Plus Program.

    Community feedback was sought on what features users of the park / playground would like to see included in relation to playground design /replacements.

    Consultations closed June 2018 – and Council would like thanks all those who participated , contributing some great suggestions. All community feedback and ideas were collated and relayed through to designers accordingly to consider in preparing suitable concepts for Councils assessment for the playgrounds at

    1. Nichol Murray Reserve playground, Pitt Street, Mortdale
    2. Bell Ave Reserve playground, Beverly Hills
    3. Poplar Place Reserve playground, Lugarno
    4. McRaes Reserve Penshurst
    5. Connells Point Reserve playground, Connells Point

    • The upgraded playground at Bell Avenue includes new play equipment, rubber soft fall surfacing, bench seating and a shade sail. Costing for this project was $85,000 being funded by Council Infrastructure plus program
    • McRaes Reserve Playground includes new play equipment, rubber soft fall surfacing, large shade sail (existing), picnic shelter/setting, bench seating and a toddler’s bike track. This project cost $115,000 and was funded from Councils General Revenue program.
    • Nichol Murray Reserve Playground includes new play equipment, rubber soft fall surfacing, shade sail (existing), bench seat, and picnic shelter/setting and toddler bike path. Costing for this project was $75,000 being funded by Council Infrastructure plus program
    • Poplar Place Reserve Playground includes new play equipment, rubber soft fall surfacing and bench seat. Costing for this project was $45,000 being funded by Council Infrastructure plus program

    The construction of the playground at Connells Point Reserve is currently underway with expected completion being mid to late April 2019.

    • Connells Point playground will include inclusive new play equipment, rubber soft fall surfacing, shade sail, bench seat and picnic shelter. This project cost $115,000 is being funded from Councils General Revenue program

    Whilst refreshing the appearance of these parks, the new playgrounds will cater for variety of ages/abilities and passive recreational use
