Update

Thanks to everyone who provided their thoughts and feedback on the proposed dog park improvements. We received over 60 responses from our community across the three locations. We'll review your feedback and update this page when we are at the next step.

Background

We're investigating options for new off leash dog parks and we're calling on the community to help us with the early stages. Our local communities value our open spaces as great places to visit, unwind, and enjoy outside of our busy lives. For those with four-legged friends, it’s important that we also design spaces where dogs can roam, exercise and socialise.

What we need

Across September, we are inviting our community to think about and provide feedback on concept designs for three off leash dog areas:

  • Hogben Park
  • Hurstville Park (adjacent to Hurstville Oval)
  • Merv Lynch Reserve

Click on the below previews to view the maps in full.

Contribute to our interactive maps

We want your feedback on the proposed layouts and suggestions on what we can add or improve. We've created three maps we'd like you to comment on. We're after:

  • Your current usage of the park
  • Pictures or images of facilities and equipment you'd like to see
  • Any ideas or feedback that you want to share with us and other community members

Access the maps here.

Draw your dog park

We have also created a printer friendly map you can use to draw out and design your dog park. Please send your drawings to yoursay@georgesriver.nsw.gov.au. You can also return them to staff at our Libraries, Centres and Early Learning Services.

Click on the below maps to view and print.

What happens next

This consultation will help us understand how our community uses these spaces and how we can continue to improve them. Once all submissions are received, our planners will consider options and return to community with detailed designs. There will be another opportunity to have your say on these designs.
