Consultation has concluded
Consultation Period: 5 August to 30 August 2020
The Georges River is a key site of Aboriginal significance in the local area. For over 60,000 years, the River has been integral to Aboriginal culture, providing water, food, and a meeting place for the Biddegal and Dharawal peoples.
Recently, Georges River Council conducted community consultation for the development of the Create Georges River Cultural Strategy. As part of this consultation, you told us you wanted to see the area’s Aboriginal living history reflected in the public domain.
Georges River Council has identified the Oatley-Como Bridge walkway as a potential site to showcase public art highlighting Aboriginal culture and increase public safety. We are interested in your use of the walkway and would like to know more about what you hope to see reflected in our public art.
