Can I nominate my neighbours tree?
No, only the registered land owners with approval from all parties or owners corporation is eligible to nominate a tree on private land. This will be verified by Council during the review of nominations.
Can I nominate a private tree if I live in an apartment or townhouse?
Yes, however additional documentation will need to be uploaded in the nomination process, such as a signed letter of approval from the land owners (all parties) or owners corporation for the tree nomination.
How many Significant Tree nominations can I make?
There is no limit to the number of nominations that can be made, however please ensure each nomination meets the assessment criteria of a significant tree and all required information is provided.
How long will it take for a tree assessed and deemed to be significant be listed on the Significant Tree Register?
Following the public exhibition period for nominations, Council will review eligibility and an independent consultant will assess all eligible nominations.
After the assessment period, successful nominations will be recommended for inclusion on the Significant Tree Register and be provided in a report to Council later in 2023.
If you submit a nomination, you will be notified when the report is presented to Council.

Where will the Significant Tree Register be listed?
It is proposed the Significant Tree Register be listed on Councils public website and neighbourhood maps.
How long will the Significant Tree be listed on the register?
It is proposed the significant tree will remain on the register in perpetuity, with a review of the register to occur every 2-3 years, subject to funding and the volume of nominations.
