Dementia Friendly Community Consultation
Consultation has concluded
In Australia, almost half a million people now live with dementia. Without a medical breakthrough, this number is expected to double over the next 30 years. In the Georges River area, there are an estimated 3,021 people living with dementia. That number is expected to be 7,757 by 2058, a 157% increase.
In 2022 Council endorsed becoming Dementia Friendly and creating a Dementia Action Plan. As part of this Action Plan, we will be conducting multiple consultations. This is our first community consultation to help inform our draft Action Plan.
