BMX and Mountain Bike Riding in Georges River
Consultation has concluded
Update: We're gearing up your summer fun
Across the summer holidays, we're inviting you to come down to two pop-up bike parks at:
Olds Park, Penshurst | |
Skatepark great for BMX and skateboards
Open now and closes 15 February 2022 |
Lower Gannons Park, Peakhurst
Jumps suitable for both mountain bikes and BMX
Open now and closes 30 January 2022 |
We are also inviting our community to help us shape the future of Olds Park Skatepark. You can let us know how you currently use or access the skatepark facility at Olds Park and what you would like to see implemented.
With bike riding off-road and in skate parks becoming increasingly popular, Georges River Council is seeking feedback from interested stakeholders about bike riding using dirt jumps, pump tracks, skate parks and on trails/downhill tracks in the local government area (LGA).
Georges River Council is committed to delivering a diverse range of high quality, sustainable, inclusive places and spaces for people of all ages and abilities to participate. Council’s Open Space, Recreation and Community Facilities Strategy 2019-2036 identifies off-road riding as an emerging sport with rising popularity.
How do I contribute?
We're inviting our community to have their say by:
completing a survey; and/or
telling us where they'd like to see bike tracks, such as jumps or trails, in the LGA by using the Build my bike track map
Survey
If you are a bike rider, please complete this survey.
If you are a community member or other interested stakeholder, please complete this survey.
Build my bike track map
We're inviting our community to have their say by completing a survey and telling us where they'd like to see a track or facility in the Georges River Council area using the map tool.
Simply click on Build my bike track map and you will be able to use the pin tool to place a point on the map. You will also be able to see what other community members have pinned.
Should you still post on our map if someone else has placed a pin at the same location? Absolutely! Pins represent your preference; the more pins collected tells us what the community wants and where.
