    Your Say Georges River is Council’s online engagement platform and provides opportunities for you to share your thoughts and ideas on the future of Georges River and take part in discussions that affect our LGA. The feedback you provide will be used to help shape the delivery of quality Council services, facilities and infrastructure.

    Council welcomes and encourages all members of the Georges River community to get involved and contribute to shaping their local area.

    Does Council have a Community Engagement Policy or Strategy?

    Georges River Council is committed to communicating with the community in an open and transparent way, whilst ensuring community members have effective methods to communicate with the organisation.

    The Community Engagement Policy provides the framework for a consistent and best practice approach to engaging with the community across all Georges River Council functions.

    The Community Engagement Strategy sets out the methods and tools to be used to encourage the Georges River community to get involved in Council’s decision making processes.

    Under the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998, Georges River Council is required to collect, maintain and use your personal information in accordance with the Information Privacy Principles.  

    You can access or amend your profile information by clicking on your name in the right hand corner once you have logged into your Your Say Georges River account.

    What will happen to my contribution?

    All comments, ideas, submissions, feedback and input will be collated and used to inform Council’s decision making processes for the associated project, strategy or activity. Updates will posted to project pages as projects progress.

    How will you engage me?

    Council assesses the type of engagement it will undertake on a case by case basis. This may include, but is not limited to, online surveys, submissions and feedback; advisory groups; public meetings; and, roundtables.

    What does being on the Your Say panel involve?

    As a member of the Your Say panel you will receive fortnightly updates on current exhibitions and surveys along with a quarterly newsletter on Councils projects and strategic plans that have been informed by engagement activities.

    Additionally you will receive adhoc invitations to join project working groups, advice groups and other unique opportunities for engagement that may arise throughout the year.

    It is up to you how much you participate, though Council encourages consistent engagement from Panel members.

    Please note, the Your Say Panel will complement, not replace, existing Council community engagement activities.

    What is the difference between registering for Your Say and the Your Say Panel?

    If you have registered on Your Say, to provide feedback or input to a project, you will receive a fortnightly updates providing information on current consultations and public exhibitions. You can unsubscribe at any time by following the link at the base of the newsletter.

    If you have registered for the Your Say Panel you will receive the fortnightly updates along with adhoc invitations to other engagement opportunities at Council and a quarterly newsletter on Councils projects and strategic plans that have been informed by engagement activities.

    Finally, if you have provided feedback to a project without registering, you will not be engaged further. The exception is if you have subscribed for project updates, in this instance you will receive project specific email updates.

    Who can join the Your Say panel?

    If you are over 16 years old and a resident and/or business owner in the Georges River LGA, Council welcomes and encourages your Panel registration.
