Expression of Interest - Hildav Printing Press
Background
Hurstville Museum & Gallery is currently hosting the Open Print Exchange exhibition, an international travelling exhibition showcasing a variety of printing techniques. As part of this display, we were fortunate to receive a donation of a large Hildav Printing Press, originally used by the University of Western Sydney printmaking department.
Unfortunately, we do not have capacity to keep this printing press once the exhibition concludes on 28 April and are currently seeking Expressions of Interest from interested Artists, artist collaboratives or teaching institutions for the press.
About the Press
Size: The bed measures 2m x 1.1015m and is made of sturdy wood, with a steel frame.
Features: It comes with two large ink rollers.

Expression of Interest Details
Cost: We are offering the press for free.
Transportation: While the press is here, the successful EOI recipient will need to cover the costs of dismantling and transportation to the new location. The press will need to be disassembled into at least a dozen parts before moving as it is very large and heavy. Hurstville Museum & Gallery has a contact (former Hilldav technician) who we used to move the press into our space and can relocate this press.
Important Dates: The press will need to be dismantled and removed from Hurstville Museum & Gallery on either Monday 29 or Tuesday 30 April 2024. These dates are not negotiable due to our tight exhibition change over.
The printing press is currently on display at Hurstville Museum & Gallery. If you're interested, feel free to drop by and inspect it before submitting your Expression of Interest.

Expressions of Interest submissions for the Hildav Printing Press must be lodged by 20 March 2024.
