Consultation has concluded
Outcome
A new Georges River Development Control Plan (DCP) 2021 has come into effect to support the new Local Environment Plan (LEP) with detailed guidelines for the design and assessment of proposed developments. For more information, please visit Council’s website: Georges River DCP 2021
Background
Council is exhibiting a draft Georges River Development Control Plan 2020 (draft DCP 2020), which supports the draft Georges River LEP 2020. A Development Control Plan (DCP) is a document prepared by Council which provides detailed guidelines for the design and assessment of proposed developments within a local government area (LGA). A DCP supports the Local Environmental Plan (LEP) and must be consistent with the provisions and objectives of the prevailing LEP. A DCP provides more detailed provisions to expand upon the development standards and controls within a LEP.
The draft DCP 2020 seeks to harmonise the number of DCPs applying to land within the Georges River LGA and create a comprehensive DCP across the LGA.
