Community Feedback for Potential Community Facility in Narwee
Consultation has concluded
Background
Council is seeking feedback from eligible community groups who are interested in a potential opportunity to establish a community facility in the Narwee area.
Community groups are defined in Council's Community Lease Policy as: "Community, sporting and other organisations which as incorporated as not-for-profit organisations, prohibit private gain."
The property is within close proximity to public transport options. both bus and rail would ideally suit an organisation currently or wishing to service the needs of the surrounding community. The Land Area is 690.3m2 with the existing structure being approximately 200 m2.
The property requires significant building refurbishment, thus Council are seeking interest from not-for-profit organisations with the ability to access state/federal government funding so as the facility can be upgraded to meet the needs of the community.
Please outline your responses on the following:
- Evidence of community group eligibility and valid insurance
- Explanation of proposed use of the facility
- Social and community benefit and extent of service provided
- Confirmation that the facility can be shared and membership (if relevant)
