Consultation has concluded

Outcome

At its meeting on the 27th of February, Council endorsed the permanency of both Merv Lynch Reserve and Hurstville Park as dog off leash areas. Thank you to everyone who provided valuable feedback on the trials. Council will work to include some of your suggested enhancements to the sites into the future.

Community Consultation

Are you a canine carer, pooch pamperer, or just all over dog lover in Hurstville or Beverly Hills? It's time to release the hounds, as we're trialing two new off leash areas for our four-legged friends at Hurstville Park and Merv Lynch Reserve!

Georges River Council currently provides nine (9) designated off leash areas, located across Peakhurst, Blakehurst and Kogarah Bay Wards. There are no dog off leash areas in either the Hurstville or Mortdale Wards.

We're undertaking this trial to meet increasing demand to provide diversity of our open spaces for the local community and their companion animals for use of passive and active recreation

Interested in checking the parks out? The locations for the trial are:

Hurstville Park – Corner of Gordon and Patrick Street, Hurstville

Merv Lynch reserve – 42 Edgbaston Road Beverly Hills

We want your feedback!

Playful barks and wagging tails are one thing, but it's important that we understand what you think of this trial. What works, what needs improvement, and how Council can help you deliver these services for our community. We're running our Ideas Wall to capture thoughts, comments and ideas - and we're also keen to see your pup enjoying the trial space! So:
