Consultation has concluded

Georges River Council is considering establishing a sports museum in the local government area. The community’s views regarding the need for and interest in a sports museum is vital to this study.

For the purposes of this feasibility study, we take a wide view of what constitutes sports including competitive and recreational, individual and team sports.

Georges River Sports Museum feasibility study forum

We will be holding a forum for the community to provide further feedback about the idea of establishing a Sports Museum in the area at the Georges River Service Centre, corner MacMahon and Dora Streets, Hurstville, at the following time:

  • Thursday 19 March, 12.00pm

The forum will discuss a range of items around the development of a sporting museum in the Georges River area including:

  • Level of participation and engagement in sports;
  • Attendance at museums and cultural institutions;
  • Should there be a sporting museum;
  • Cost of a museum;
  • Location of a sporting museum;
  • Content and programs in a sporting museum.
