Read-Cycle: Giving Library Resources a Second Chapter
Georges River Read-Cycle is a sustainability initiative that connects pre-loved library resources with the local community organisations that can put them to good use.
We're inviting Expressions of Interest from eligible community service organisations, government services and registered not-for-profits to receive donated library stock free of charge. Whether it's stocking a waiting room, supporting a literacy program or simply giving people access to books they'd otherwise go without, Read-Cycle is about making sure good resources find good homes.
A wide range of materials is available, including children's books, young adult and adult fiction and non-fiction and books in Chinese and Greek.
Submit your expression of interest using the form below by Tuesday 30 June 2026.
Eligibility
Applicants must be a not-for-profit, government, or community service organisation serving the Georges River community in a non-commercial capacity. Eligible organisations provide services in one or more of the following sectors:
Education
Health and welfare
Multicultural services
Youth services
Refugee support
Low-income support
Care institutions
Charities
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations
Applications are assessed based on organisation type, demonstrated community need, intended use of materials and available stock. Preference is given to organisations serving the local Georges River community.
Update - 29 May, 2026
Successful applicants in 2026 will remain eligible to receive library items for a period of 24 months. Expressions of interest will continue to be published every 12 months. That means that if your organisation submits a successful application this year, it will automatically be included for consideration in next year's Read-Cycle program, no reapplication required.
