Public Exhibition of the Floodplain Risk Management Terms of Reference
We are inviting community members to review the Draft Floodplain Risk Management Committee Terms of Reference and provide feedback during the public exhibition period.
About the Floodplain Risk Management Committee
The Floodplain Risk Management Committee plays an important role in helping Council develop strategies to manage flood risks across our local government area.
Like other urban areas in New South Wales, Georges River has a history of flooding from various sources, including overland flash flooding, mainstream flooding, and coastal flooding.
Under the NSW Government's Flood Prone Land Policy, Council is responsible for managing flood-prone lands in our area. We must develop Floodplain Risk Management Plans that help lessen flooding's impact on property owners and the broader community.
Draft Terms of Reference for the Floodplain Risk Management Committee.
The draft Terms of Reference for the Floodplain Risk Management Committee is now on public exhibition as determined at the Assets and Infrastructure Committee Meeting on April 14, 2025 and endorsed by Council on April 28, 2025.
