Council is seeking community feedback on its Draft Tree Management Policy and associated amendments to the Georges River Council 2018/19 Schedule of Fees and Charges. Council is responsible for the preservation of trees and vegetation under the provisions of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, Council’s Local Environmental Plans and Development Control Plans. The Draft Tree Management Policy will recognise the ecological and economic importance of all trees within the Local Government Area with a key outcome to increase and enhance the extent of tree canopy throughout the City through planning of appropriate trees in streets, public places and bushland areas. It also proposes workable assessment criteria for the management of trees on private and public land
