Canterbury Bankstown/Georges River Draft Bush Fire Risk Management Plan is currently on exhibition until 5pm on Thursday 29th February 2024.

Background

A Bush Fire Risk Management Plan (BFRMP) is a document that maps and describes the level of bush fire risk across an area and sets out treatment strategies to minimise and mitigate the risk to the community over five years.

A draft Bush Fire Risk Management Plan for Canterbury Bankstown/Georges River has been developed by the local Bush Fire Management Committee (BFMC) with input from the local community. The local BFMC consists of fire agencies, land managers and other stakeholders working to identify ways of reducing the impact of fires on the area - protecting lives, homes, businesses, agriculture, the environment and other assets that are important to Canterbury Bankstown/Georges River. The draft plan identifies the risk to communities and the assets we all value. Using feedback from fire agencies, land managers and other stakeholders, the plan identifies ways of reducing the impact of fires across our area.
