At its meeting held on 25 September, Council resolved to adopt the Swimming pool Compliance Policy 2023 and Swimming Pool Inspection Program.
Background
A report was considered by Council at its meeting on 22 May 2023 in regard to the establishment of a functional and transparent framework to address Councils responsibilities in regard to private swimming pools. The framework also ensures that Council actively raises community awareness of the importance of swimming pool safety to aid in the reduction of drowning and near-drowning events within the Georges River Local Government Area (LGA).
The framework includes a new Swimming Pool Policy and Swimming Pool Inspection Program.
