Update
Thank you to everyone who provided feedback during our consultation period. The Management of Feral and Infant Companion Animals Policy has now been updated and is available on our Council website.
The draft Policy has an overall purpose to outline ‘humane assessment criteria to be applied in the management of Feral or Infant Companion Animals, which have been lawfully seized, abandoned or surrendered’. The Policy provides options for the early release of Infant Companion Animals to the RSPCA or to an animal rehoming organisation as an alternative to euthanasia.
Submissions closed Friday 27 November 2020.
Following closure of the public exhibition, the submissions were collated and reported to Council in early 2021, to assist with a final decision on the policy.
