Olds Park Skate Facility - Extended Lighting Trial
The recently completed Olds Park Skate Facility was opened to the public for community use in December 2023. The modern skate facility has been provided for the enjoyment of skaters, scooter riders and BMX riders.
Following initial community consultation undertaken during the design process, the lighting at the facility was scheduled to operate daily until 7.00pm. Since the opening, Council has received additional community feedback requesting that the operating hours of lighting at the facility be extended to allow broader community use.
Based on the community feedback received, Council will trial the extension of the operating hours of lighting at Olds Park Skate Facility from 7:00pm to 9:45pm. The new proposed switch off time of 9:45pm is in alignment with the existing sports field lighting within Olds Park.
The trial will commence 18 June 2024 and will be in effect until 28 July 2024. Following completion of the trial, Council will assess whether the extension of operating hours will be made permanent.
