What Is Neighbour Day?

Neighbour Day is a national campaign that encourages social connection and aims to reduce loneliness across Australia. Each year, it’s celebrated on the last Sunday in March as a reminder to reach out, connect, and support the people around us.

Join the Neighbour Day Celebrations

This year, we’re celebrating Neighbour Day with a Bingo Challenge and a Neighbour Day Community Wall. Submitting an entry in either the Community Wall or Bingo puts you into the draw for our Neighbour Day prize.

Submit your entry to our Neighbour Day Community Wall

We’re creating a Neighbour Day Community Wall to showcase local connections. We invite you to:

  • Spend some time with your neighbours
  • Take a photo to remember the moment
  • Tell us what special connection you share

Take the Neighbour Day Bingo Challenge

Up for a challenge? We’re running Neighbour Day Bingo throughout March. We’ve created 12 simple activities you can do with your neighbours. It might be:

  • Having a chat over the fence
  • Trying a new food spot together
  • Attending a local event
  • Exploring a park or place in your area

Complete at least 6 out of 12 activities to get bingo! You can download our Neighbour Day bingo card on this page, or collect a printed card at the Hurstville Civic Centre or any Council library.

Neighbour Day 2026 Prize

By submitting an entry in either the Community Wall or Neighbour Day Bingo, you will go in the draw to win a cruise for you and a neighbour, along the Georges River itself!

On a 3-hour Bass and Flinders Lunch Cruise, you will experience the sights of the river while served tea and biscuits, and a buffet style lunch inside the vessel's dining rooms.

There are 2 x 2-person Lunch Cruise gift vouchers available to win for those who submit to the Community Wall, or submit a completed bingo card.

Only residents of the Georges River Local Government area are eligible to win a prize.

You can share your neighbourly moments in a few simple ways:

  • Complete the online form on this page
  • Email your photo or a scan/photo of your bingo card to: communitycapacitybuilding@georgesriver.nsw.gov.au
