Meade Reserve Playground - Concept Design
Consultation has concluded
Georges River Council has identified Meade Park as a site for playground improvement and expansion before June 2019.
It is anticipated the construction of the new playground will take approximately one to two months, during which time the playground area will be closed.
The works will see an expansion and improvement of the existing playground with a suitable contractor engaged to design and construct new equipment and landscaping.

Thank you to all community members who provided information and suggestions regarding the proposed Meade Reserve playground replacement. All ideas/feedback received were relayed to the playground designers to incorporate design elements where possible to the playground and associated landscaping.
Please review the final concept design for proposed construction in March 2019.
Council welcomes your comments and ideas on the proposed changes to the playground in the plan.

Please include disability equipment like the locally designed and produced Liberty Swing. Like the one in Olds Park Penshurst??

Improved footpaths in local area
Improve footpaths nearby so it is easier to walk with a pram or for kids to ride a bike. It great the images include bike racks too, very handy.

Adult Pull up Bars and Dip Bars
Love the playground plan esp the monkey bars. It would be wonderful please to add adult pull up bars + dip bars (such as at Moore Reserve) near the kids equipment, for parents to exercise while being able to supervise. I have a toddler and would love to be able to work out myself while he plays, and there is nowhere I have found where I can do this. These aren't expensive but sorely needed.

Active travel access
Please also include walking and cycling routes / facilities / accessibility to this playground to facilitate safe and easy active travel. eg. path access to the playground and bike parking suitable for cargo bikes, bikes with seats, kids bikes.

Council is seeking community feedback on what features could be included in the park. This information will be provided to the design consultant to assist the development of the playground design. At this stage the proposed new playground will focus on inclusive adventure play features to encourage creative and active play.
Please provide your feedback identifying what type of play equipment/components you would like to see included.

Older kids included.
What I love about this park is that it is suitable for the older age group (6 years old +). It has structures suitable for older than 6 years old, when the surrounding parks do not cater for this age group.

More bins. No toilets; smelly and attract drug abusers. Cockatoos ripping up grass and denuding trees, you will need to get rid of them.

Large structure
A large structure off which the various activities come eg boat/castle with integrated slides, climbing walls, ropes, swings, monkey bars

Flying Fox + Landscape play
I'd like to see a flying fox. One that includes a seat for kids with disability to sit in. A small bike track with some hills to create a scooter path with jumps. Similar to the track at Thirroul Park on the South Coast. Some large sand stones can be used as seating or for Parkour type play.

Toddler friendly play equipment as well as older children equipment
A wide range of age appropriate play areas. Swings that have toddler seats ( more than 1) Climbing ropes, climbing walls, slides, balancing beams, see saw, soft floor not bark
