Join the Multicultural Advisory Committee
We are looking for people from the diverse communities in Georges River to join our Multicultural Advisory Committee.
What is the Multicultural Advisory Committee?
The Committee is a group that represents the interests of people from different cultural and language backgrounds in Georges River. The Committee gives feedback and advice to Council on its policies, plans, and services to better support multicultural communities.
Who can join?
Membership is voluntary and can have up to fifteen members at a time. Membership is for a two year term. To join, you should:
- Identify as someone from a culturally and linguistically diverse community, or
- Identify as someone with skills and experience working or volunteering with culturally and linguistically diverse communities
- Be available to attend meetings and help confirm the accuracy of meeting minutes.
- Represent the views and issues of your community.
- All members must have a connection to Georges River, they may:
- live in Georges River
- work, visit or use community services in Georges River
- work or volunteer for an organisation that provides services to Georges River
We value the diverse identities within our community and welcome people who identify as:
- Deaf or hard of hearing
- A person with a disability
- LGBTQIA+
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
- Young people (18-25)
- Seniors (55+)

- in person to Georges River Civic Centre, Corner MacMahon and Dora Streets, Hurstville; or
