Calling our local lyricists!

Do you love playing in the Ionian scale? Can't pass up sending Miles Davis around the turntable? Looking for a way to combine your passion for music and writing? We are seeking expressions of interest from poets and performers to participate in our Library Up-Late event. We are accepting two entries per submission.

What is Jazz Poetry?

Jazz Poetry is a literary genre defined as poetry informed by jazz music – poetry that feels jazz-like rhythm, syncopation, or the feel of improvisation or that takes jazz music as its subject.

How can I participate?

Individuals and/or groups will have the opportunity to perform their piece to a live audience with intermission performances from live jazz musicians. Library Up-Late will be hosted by Georges River Libraries and will receive further promotion alongside Georges River Council's ‘In Good Taste’ Festival happening over the month of February 2022.

If you are interested in performing, we invite you to complete our Expression of Interest (EOI) by clicking here to by completing the form below.
