Update

At its meeting held on 23 September, Council resolved to adopt the Grants and Donations Policy and Sponsorship Policy.

Update (July 2023)

The Georges River Council Grants, Donations and Sponsorship Policy was first adopted by Council on 27 August 2018. The Policy was updated and endorsed by Council on 20 April 2020.

The next review of the Grants, Donations and Sponsorship Policy (2020) determined the need for a stand-alone Sponsorship Policy to provide clear principles and a framework for the expenditure and receipt of funding through the process of sponsorship.

The Grants, Donations and Sponsorship Policy (2020) has been divided into two separate Policies to be placed on public exhibition for community feedback.

Amendments have been made to the Draft Grants and Donations Policy, and inclusions have been made to the Draft Sponsorship Policy, to ensure both Policies are responsive to community needs, equitable, efficient and accessible to community members. Both Policies will be on public exhibition for 28-days.

Background

The Georges River Council Grants, Donations and Sponsorship Policy (2020) idue for review in April 2023.

The Policy guides the application process, allocation and evaluation of funding to address community needs under Section 356 of the Local Government Act 1993. Our Grants, Donations and Sponsorship programs support initiatives and projects that build the social, cultural, environmental and economic life of the area. Through these programs, Council partners with the community and businesses to further the actions, strategic directions and vision of Council’s Community Strategic Plan.

Georges River Council invites you to share your feedback on the existing Policy to inform the review. If you have any ideas about specific items in the Policy, or general feedback, we are eager to hear from you.
