On 24 June 2024, Council approved the Georges River Council Sports Advisory Committee (The Committee) as a permanent Advisory Committee. It commenced in November 2024.
Council is now looking for 15 new members for the 2026 term.
What is the Sports Advisory Committee?
The Committee is a place to share ideas and talk about Council’s sports plans. It also speaks for local sporting groups on sports issues.
The Committee’s goals are:
✅ Provide a space to share and discuss information important to local sporting groups.
✅ Encourage members from all local sporting groups to take part.
✅ Work together to make better use of sports fields and facilities.
When does the Sports Advisory Committee meet?
The Committee meets quarterly at Georges River Council on Thursdays from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.
Prior to each meeting, a workshop is held from 5:00pm to 6:00pm, which all members are expected to attend.
The business paper is published seven days before each meeting to allow members sufficient time for review.
