Georges River Council Sports Advisory Committee Expressions of Interest 2025

On 24 June 2024, Council endorsed the establishment of the Georges River Council Sports Advisory Committee (The Committee) as a permanent Advisory Committee. The established Committee commenced in November 2024.

The Committee provides a forum for the dissemination and consideration of information pertaining to relevant Council strategies and will represent the views of local sporting bodies relating to sporting matters.

The objectives of The Committee are as follows:

• Provide a forum for dissemination and consideration of information to local sporting bodies;
• Encourage participation from members of all local sporting bodies in Council’s decision-making processes;
• Promote cross-code collaboration between local sporting bodies to achieve greater utilisation of facilities and fields; and
• Assist Council in the identification of current and future sporting needs for the community including infrastructure and capital works requirements, maintenance requirements and investment in new facilities.

Due to the resignation of a Committee member, we are seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from representatives from local sporting bodies to find a suitable replacement for the vacant position.

The term of the appointment is until November 2025, whereby a new Committee will be established for a period of one year.

Members of The Committee are required to have a strong knowledge, and/or a reputation of excellence and expertise related to sport in the Georges River Council LGA.

How to apply

Applicants interested in joining the Georges River Council Sports Advisory Committee are required to submit the following:

• Outline of their interest in and capacity to be a Georges River Council Sports Advisory Committee member, along with demonstrated skills, and experience;
• Endorsement from the Applicant’s sporting body supporting their representation on The Committee; and
• Curriculum Vitae (maximum 3 x A4 pages).

Expressions of Interest submissions for the Georges River Sports Advisory Committee must be lodged by 11.59pm Thursday 8 May 2025.
