Georges River Council welcomes suitable members of the Georges River Community to submit Expressions of Interest join Council’s Major Events Advisory Committee as a Community Representative.

The Major Events Advisory Committee is designed to:

  • Advise on matters relating to the following major Council events with the aim of gaining social, cultural, economic and environmental benefits for the Georges River community:

  • Magic of Christmas in Carss Bush Park

  • Australia Day Festival

  • Lunar New Year Festival

  • Advise on matters relating to the strategic direction of Council’s major events to make the Georges River area a leading, event-friendly destination.

Georges River Council welcomes suitable members of the Georges River Community to submit Expressions of Interest join Council’s Major Events Advisory Committee as a Community Representative.

The Major Events Advisory Committee is designed to:

  • Advise on matters relating to the following major Council events with the aim of gaining social, cultural, economic and environmental benefits for the Georges River community:

  • Australia Day Festival

  • Lunar New Year Festival

  • Advise on matters relating to the strategic direction of Council’s major events to make the Georges River area a leading, event-friendly destination.

Community Representatives

Three community representatives are being sought. Membership is voluntary however representatives will be required to attend the Major Events Advisory Committee meeting which occurs every two months on the third Tuesday of the month at 5.00pm at the Civic Centre in Hurstville.

Community representatives should have a broad understanding of community and cultural issues as well as the adopted Council strategies and their associated actions. Expertise is being sought by Council in the following industries:

  • Events

  • Hospitality

  • Finance



  • Terms of Reference
