Update - 25 March 2024

Council at its meeting held on 25 March 2024 endorsed the Draft Georges River Council Enforcement Policy 2024 for the purpose of public exhibition for a minimum period of 60 days.

The Policy provides a framework to ensure the investigation and detection of any breach of the law will be conducted in a fair, lawful, consistent, transparent and professional manner and with a thorough consideration of all available facts, to assist Council and its Authorised Officers in making decisions in its regulatory functions.

At the Council Meeting held on Monday, 27 September 2021 Council adopted the Georges River Enforcement Policy. You can view the Policy on our website by taking the following link:

Georges River Enforcement Policy

The draft Georges River Enforcement Policy 2021 was initially adopted by Council in 2017 and has been reviewed (without amendment) in accordance with the timeframe contained within the Policy.

The purpose of the draft Policy is to provide the community with an understanding of the types of enforcement and prosecution actions available to Council, the guiding principles used in making decisions about enforcement and prosecution actions and examples of where such actions may be taken.
