Consultation has concluded

As part of the consultation around the Create Georges River Cultural Strategy Discussion paper, you expressed a desire to see "more public art projects” and the “promotion of public art in open space”.

Council is proposing to install a public artwork within the Ellen Subway, Mortdale, and want to know - What does Mortdale mean to you? What’s your favourite thing, or something unique about the place where you live or visit?

Your thoughts and comments will help to inspire the artists with their creation.

Our first step is to gather your ideas about the local identity

Your thoughts and comments will help to inspire the artists with their creation.

Our first step is to gather your ideas about the local identity of Mortdale. These responses will be used to give artists an insight into your local area. The artists will submit expressions of interest to complete the public art installation at Ellen Subway and shortlisted artists will be asked to design an artwork for Ellen Subway. These designs will then come back to you for your feedback. Once selected, the artist will complete the artwork within the tunnel. This installation should cause minimal disruptions to regular traffic flow.
