Help Shape the Future of Georges River's Economy

What is the Economic Development Strategy about.

Georges River Council is developing a new Economic Development Strategy to guide how we support local businesses, jobs, investment and vibrant centres across the Georges River area over the next decade.

The strategy will identify opportunities to strengthen our local economy, support business growth, create employment opportunities and ensure Georges River remains a great place to live, work, visit and invest.

The Economic Development Strategy Sets Council's long-term direction for economic growth and prosperity. It responds to the unique opportunities and challenges facing Georges River and outlines practical actions that Council can take to support a resilient, connected and future-ready Georges River economy.

Tell Us

We are seeking feedback on the Economic Development Strategy as a whole to ensure it reflects the aspirations and priorities of our community, businesses, and stakeholders.

While feedback is welcome on all aspects of the strategy, we are particularly interested in comments on the Action Plan, which begins on page 27. This section outlines the key initiatives and actions that Council will undertake to support economic growth, strengthen local business, and enhance the prosperity of the Georges River area over the coming years.

Your feedback will help Council refine and prioritise these actions to ensure they deliver meaningful outcomes for our community and local economy.

Key Questions

  • Do the proposed actions address the needs of local businesses, workers, and the broader community?
  • Which initiatives are most important to you and why?
  • Are there any emerging opportunities that Council should take advantage of?
  • Are there any challenges or barriers that Council should consider when implementing the Strategy?
  • Are there any actions, projects, or initiatives that you would like to see included in the Strategy?
  • Do you have any other comments or suggestions regarding the Economic Development Strategy?

Why Your Feedback Matters

The Economic Development Strategy will help guide Council's efforts to support local businesses, attract investment, create opportunities for employment, and strengthen the economic resilience of the Georges River area. Community and stakeholder feedback is an important part of ensuring the Strategy is practical, relevant, and responsive to local needs.
