Consultation has concluded

Council is now seeking community feedback on this draft Strategy which has been developed to transform Council into an innovative leader for change, by leveraging our strengths and our diverse community.

Georges River Council, at its extraordinary meeting on 20 April 2020, adopted the Innovation Strategy from the recommendations at the Community and Culture meeting on 9 March 2020 to exhibit the Draft Innovation Strategy (the ‘draft Strategy’).

Council is now seeking community feedback on this draft Strategy which has been developed to transform Council into an innovative leader for change, by leveraging our strengths and our diverse community.

BENEFITS OF INNOVATION

  • Innovation will help us be more prepared for future challenges and will be able to adapt to future change.
  • We will have greater efficiency and quality in delivery of services to the local community.
  • There will be opportunities for greater collaboration and increased interaction between local stakeholders.
  • Have the capacity to support local economic development and attract public and private sector investment.
  • It will provide us with an opportunity to get involved, think outside the box and work with new people.
  • Help us create transformational changes required to meet United Nations sustainable development goals.

The draft Strategy outlines a number of recommendations for Council to pursue to build innovation in the organisation and build long lasting strategic partnerships in the local government area.
