Let us know what you want from events in the community!

Georges River Council is developing the Draft Events and Festivals Strategy that will help to generate and enhance community pride by building our profile and attracting the right type of events, at the right time of year, that support our economy and align with our community values and desires. Georges River Council aims to plan, attract, and direct events to ensure our city is welcoming, healthy, safe, and vibrant for all.

In preparation of the draft strategy Council is conducting a survey. Council will also review best practice at other organisations and consult further with the community, local business and local organisations to develop the draft strategy.

Background

The Georges River Council Draft Events and Festivals Strategy is our roadmap for improving our customers experiences and interactions with us. Council plays an important role in delivering events, but also as a sponsor and facilitator of community-organised events and activities across the Georges River area.

Festivals and events enable communities to feel connected and proud about where they live, work and play. They illuminate our rich tapestry of places, cultures, beliefs, traditions, arts and talents. They're also important to stimulate local economic activity, showcasing our great places and attractions, and helping to place Georges River on the map as a visitor destination.

Our goal is to continue to improve our community events. Council is committed to and invested in delivering not only great events for the community but also creating exceptional experiences. The Draft Events and Festivals Strategy will be our guide to achieving this.
