Update
Council has engaged a contractor to construct the new playground within Austin Avenue Reserve. The project includes the replacement of the aging equipment, within a similar footprint to the existing play space and to maximise play outcomes that better align to a local-level facility.
Construction works will begin 31 May, 2024 and weather permitting, will be completed within 4-5 weeks.
The final design for this project can be viewed under the documents tab.
Background
As part of Councils Playground Program 2023/24, Austin Avenue Reserve was identified for renewal. This project looks to upgrade the existing playspace to maximise play outcomes that better align to a local-level facility.
Council sought community feedback on how the existing facility is used and what new features would be enjoyed in the playspace. The feedback was used to guide the development of a concept design for construction this financial year.
