Georges River Council is excited to share the 'GRC Art Expo'!
The Georges River Council Art Expo is an opportunity for young people aged 12-25 from the Georges River Council local government area (LGA) to share their artistic talents. It’s also a chance to share a message about this year's Youth Week themes: connect, participate, and celebrate. We invite you to submit creative pieces of any description - from painting and drawing, to sculpture and photography. Fill your extra time at home by learning a new skill or showing off one you've already got.
Submit a photo of your artwork below, along with your name and a description of the artwork. Deadline to submit creative pieces is 4pm Monday 3 April 2023.
After submissions close, the Georges River community will have the opportunity to admire and choose eight (8) creative pieces for exhibition at the Georges River Youth Festival at Penshurst Park Sporting Hub on Friday 21 April 2023.

The Plants of Indigenous Australia
Inspired by 'Plants: Past, Present, and Future' by Zena Cumpston, Michael Shawn-Fletcher and Lesley Head, this poster was created to celebrate the deep connection between Indigenous Australians and their land. The plants depicted in this poster were used for various purposes, including, as food, medicine, tea, wood for digging sticks or spears, and string for nets. As I am not an Indigenous Australian, I have been deeply inspired by the ways that Australia's First Peoples utilised and respected the world around them.
