Riverwood Wetland Remediation

Georges River Council will soon be undertaking remediation works to improve Riverwood Wetland and its surrounds.

The plan for this area is to reconfigure and naturalise the wetland, while restoring and managing natural processes associated with appropriate stormwater treatment. By restoring the wetland, Council will be able to enhance the urban waterway and improve the natural habitat and also the aesthetics of the area.

Funding assistance for these works has been obtained from NSW Environmental Trust and Local land Services - Greater Sydney.

Works are expected to commence in May 2018, with completion by July 2018. Sections of the wetland walking path will be closed during this work time.
