Consultation

In late 2018 Council sought feedback from a wide range of individuals and groups throughout the Georges River area to gain an understanding of their expectations in relation to engagement with Council.

As a result of this input, Council has now developed a Draft Community Engagement Strategy as required by the NSW Government. This strategy will inform Council’s engagement approach as well as provide a framework to guide how and when we engage with our community. This considers the requirements of both the EP&A Act and Local Government Act 1993.

This strategy will be on public exhibition for review and comments from 24 July to 1 September 2019 .

Council held two workshops at Georges River Council Service Centre, MacMahon Street, Hurstville that you could register to attend. The dates and times of these workshops were:

  • Wednesday, 21st August 2019 between 6:00pm to 7:00pm
  • Saturday, 31st August 2019 between 12:00pm to 1:00pm

Documentation was also available to be viewed at:

  • Georges River Council Service Centre, MacMahon Street, Hurstville, between 8.30am and 5.00pm, Monday to Friday
  • Hurstville and Kogarah Public Libraries during library hours.
